A clear, committed process: direct selection in Galicia, long-term producer partnerships, and active market-building in the Netherlands.
Every wine in the GWS portfolio was chosen in person, in Galicia. Our founders visit the region multiple times each year, not for trade fairs or group tastings, but for extended stays in the winegrowing areas of Rías Baixas, Ribeiro, and Ribeira Sacra. They taste in the cellars, walk the estates, and spend time with the winemakers whose work they are considering.
Selection is made on the ground, based on what the wine is: its expression of place, the integrity of the production, the character of the producer. We do not use brokers. We do not work from catalogues. Every bottle in our range has been chosen directly, with full understanding of where it comes from and why it deserves to be here.
Selection is the beginning of a relationship, not its purpose. We work with a small number of producers on a committed, multi-year basis. This is a deliberate choice: meaningful import work takes time, and producers deserve partners who are in it for the long term, not buyers who move on when the next vintage disappoints or the market shifts.
Our partnerships are built on regular communication, transparent feedback, and an honest understanding of what the Dutch market requires. We are flexible with smaller volumes and open to working with producers at different stages of their international development. What we ask in return is quality, consistency, and a shared belief that the market we are building together is worth investing in.
We introduce producers' wines to the Dutch market through multiple complementary channels. Our specialist consumer platform, albarinoshop.com, builds direct consumer awareness and allows us to communicate a producer's story with depth and care. B2B relationships with restaurants, wine bars, and independent retailers extend that reach into professional trade.
We are also present at national wine events and festivals, not as passive exhibitors, but as active advocates for the region. Every bottle sold is supported by accurate, compelling communication: tasting notes, producer background, and the kind of context that helps buyers and consumers understand why this wine, from this place, is worth their attention.
We handle all import logistics in-house: customs clearance, temperature-controlled storage at our warehouse in Zutphen, and last-mile delivery to trade customers across the Netherlands. There is no third-party distributor between GWS and the end customer. This means faster turnaround, better stock visibility, and a single point of contact for any question that arises.
For producers, this means reliable, predictable order fulfilment and a partner who can give clear, current information about how their wine is moving in the Dutch market. For our trade customers, it means direct access to a team with genuine product knowledge, and the confidence that what they order is exactly what they will receive.
"We are not a logistics provider with a wine catalogue. We are advocates for a region, and that distinction shapes everything we do."
